Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located at 2301 S Kink-Goosebay Road, Unit 6/7 (the large warehouse in the back fenced area), Wasilla, AK 99654
Q: How often do classes meet?
A: Your class will meet the same day and time each week unless noted otherwise in the description such as stating that it skips a certain week due to holiday or conflict.
Q: What vaccinations to you require?
A: For dogs over six months they must have rabies vaccination. All adult dogs must also be current on their parvovirus vaccination while puppies must have the second shot of the three shot series (usually given between 11-13 weeks) as we want to help better ensure your pup does not contract it. No vaccinations are required for online classes.
Q: I am looking at just getting started in foundation obedience, what class do I take?
A: For dogs under six months of age or under 20 pounds, they may take our STAR Puppy class, the rest would go to our Good Dog 101.
Q: What are your policies regarding make-ups, refunds, credits?
A: Our class policies can be found here.
Q: What breeds do you accept?
A: We teach ALL dogs. We do not discriminate against breed or type.
Q: How much are classes?
A: Most of our obedience classes are $165 for six one-hour classes and for agility $180.00 for six one-hour classes. Please always check your class information for exact information.
Q: Do you train the dogs for us?
A: For our classes and private lessons, we teach you how to teach your dog. We are happy to help you with your dog and may demo to you with your dog what we want to see, but we want you to learn how to better communicate with your dog no matter the sport or situation. We do make exceptions depending on handler limitations, so if you are unsure the best thing is to call or email us to check. We do offer private lessons for teams, and we to train your dogs in our Board & Train program.
Q: Can my child handle their dog during classes?
A: We love to see junior handlers participate. They absolutely may handle their dog in class if they are physically able to handle their dog.
Q: Do you in home private lessons.
A: No. We either meet at Bell Creek or another public venue.
Q: Do you work with aggressive dogs?
A: We will work privately with dogs that display reactivity as a class setting is not the best place to start. If you are unsure what is the best placement for your dog, we are happy to evaluate them. With dogs displaying aggression we are happy to refer you to training programs that specialize in aggression.
Q: How many dogs can I work during my private lesson?
A: You can work as many dogs as you would like it is your time. I do not recommend working one dog for an hour, but instead for half-an-hour.
