"JAMES"
RBIS GCH CH BOREAL'S DOUBLE SHOT OF FUN
BN, OAJ, AX, NxP, MJP, XF, CA
I met James first as an eight-week-old puppy that belonged to my friend Debi Hill. He was a little spit fire. I let Debi know if she ever wanted a spare handler, I would love to as I was betting he was going to be a ball. Debi asked me if instead I would be his only handler. I think we all know what my answer was. Debi told me more than once that the best decision she ever made was allowing me to be Jamie's "agility mom." It is humbling when a friend trusts you that much with a piece of their heart.
When James was available, I would pick him up to go and train with my dogs. He would come over to my house to do some fundamentals and then go back to his mom afterwards. Due to Debi's health, she had asked me if anything were to happen to her if I would be willing to take him as she wanted to have him continue to play a game he loves. James lost his mom at the age of four and he came to live full-time in the house of Labradors. As a credit to both Debi and James's breeder, Mike Frost, he handled the transition very well. I am sure that Debi is still watching over big man who was a wonderful teammate for me, but even a better one for my daughter who ran James in agility until after he turned 12. He is now retired and enjoying the chill life as long as he still gets to work at home, cookies, and pets. He really is a sweet old man.
